Challenge Course
High ropesThe beautiful forest and landscape of High Peak Camp allows us to offer both a high and low ropes challenge course for campers. They are run by staff members who are fully certified, and safety equipment is always used in order to offer a safe and rewarding experience to our campers.

The low ropes course is meant for first-timers, and our younger campers. It is more basic in its difficulty level, but gives young people the opportunity to test their balance, inner strength, and to try something they have never done before.

The high ropes course is meant for more experienced campers, who are ready to challenge their physical skills, balance, trust, sense of teamwork, and personal strength.

Climbing Wall teaches campers the basics of climbing and repelling.

Waterfront
High Peak boasts several ponds, as well as a creek that runs directly through the center of our Camp. Under the direction of our Waterfront Director and lifeguard, children learn the importance of water safety as well as all the fun that can be had in the water!

Campers are given the opportunity to learn how to fish in our catch and release program, canoe, paddleboat, and play water games in our creek.

Christian Education
Salvation Army camping is unique, because we believe that the most important thing we can teach a child is their worth in the eyes of God. We have a full time Christian Education Director whose sole purpose is to create fun, interactive, memorable activities that will open children's eyes to the great love of God.

Through the camping experience, our goal is for each camper to discover God in a new way and to learn of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Arts and Crafts
One of the most important elements of camping is offering hands-on experiences for children. Our Arts and Crafts program gives children the ability to touch and feel nature, using objects found in the mountains to create items that are uniquely theirs. Through the artistic process of creating, young people are given an opportunity to learn about nature in a way that is wonderful and different.

Nature Center
Many young people today have never left the environment of the city, and have had little contact with the great outdoors. One of the most exciting aspects of the camping experience is getting children in touch with nature in its purest form. This year High Peak Camp boasts of a brand new NATURE CENTER. We provide nature movies, educational books, bug catching kits and enviornments, telescopes and SO MUCH MORE.

Through the use of nature walks and hikes, our nature center, and creative educational programming we teach young people how to better appreciate and respect the world that God has created.

Outdoor Recreation
Children love to play, and at High Peak Camp we give them plenty of opportunities to do just that! Through the use of organized games in the great outdoors, kids are encouraged to laugh, run, learn teamwork and fair play.
